About DAM festival


damfest.com (International Festival of Music) is one of the most prominent cultural events taking place in the capital city of the Republic of Kosovo, Prishtina. Founded in 2006, DAM is an annual classical and contemporary music festival which gathers young,  emerging and distinguished musicians from all over the world. It enriches the Kosovar cultural scene and it serves as a cross border dialogue through music. Some of the concerts at DAM Festival do take place in atypical venues and that makes the festival eclectic. Through years the scene of the festival has welcomed distinguished musicians such as: Peter Sheppard Skaerved (violinist), Luka Sulic (cellist), Petrit Çeku (guitarist), Alexander Prior (conductor), Wu Qian (pianist), Ozcan Ulucan (violist), Marcio da Silva (conductor), Kian Soltani (cellist), Olga Zado (pianist), Boian Videnoff (conductor), Maria Nemtsova (pianist), Vitaly Vatulya (saxophonist) and ensembles and orchestras such as: Kosovo Philharmony, Arcata Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Mannheimer Philharmoniker, IU New Music Ensemble, DUEL, Krakow Percussion Ensemble etc. DAM Festival activities consists also special programs dedicated to children with Syndrome Down, Autism and children living in marginalized communities.
